Faith Formation for Children
We offer a variety of ways for families to grow together — all designed to help parents and children get to know Jesus Christ more personally, while respecting the busy schedules of those we serve.
Partners in Faith
Partners in Faith is a family-based, community-oriented formation for children in Pre-K through grade 8 and their parents. Centered on the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, it continues with the study of Scripture and our Catholic tradition, connecting faith and life as families gather in interactive 90-minute sessions, twice a month, August through May, in the Education Center.
Sunday mornings — 10:15–11:45 a.m., twice a month
Wednesday evenings — 5:30–7:00 p.m., twice a month

First Reconciliation & First Eucharist
Children prepare for their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist together, usually in second grade, through our Partners in Faith sessions. Preparation includes family retreats and celebrations scheduled each year; families receive the calendar and Mass-choice forms from the Faith Formation Ministry.
Children should be actively participating in faith formation in both first and second grade, and parents take part in the classroom during some sessions. To learn more or register, contact the Faith Formation Ministry at 530-677-3234 or ffm@holytrinityparish.org.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
TK through 5th grade
Children in TK–5 are invited to experience God’s Word at a level just for them. They hear the same Scripture readings as the rest of the assembly, taught with a simplified main message. Children begin Mass with their family, are dismissed before the Liturgy of the Word, and rejoin their family at the Offertory — encouraged to share what they learned afterward.
All of our children’s ministries are entirely voluntary, and children are always welcome to remain at Mass with their parents.
Kidzone
1 year through TK
Children 12 months (and walking) through pre-kindergarten have a place made just for them while Mom and Dad attend Mass. We provide age-appropriate crafts, toys, games, and faith-based lessons during the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses. Just drop in to Kidzone (on the right, in the building before the Church) about 15 minutes before Mass begins.
