The Source and Summit of Christian Life
The Holy Eucharist — Communion — is the source and summit of Christian life. At the Last Supper, on the night He was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of His Body and Blood.
Receiving the Eucharist in Mass is “…a banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church)
Preparing Your Child for First Communion
To prepare to receive this incredible gift, our Partners-in-Faith Faith Formation program is designed to form the whole family. Classes are for children from Transitional Kindergarten through their celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation — and while youth are in their classes, parents participate in adult formation and fellowship led by our Director of Faith Formation, Cynthia Mulcaire.
For more information and to register, visit our Children’s Faith Formation page. You can also contact our Faith Formation Ministry at 530-677-3234 or by email at ffm@holytrinityparish.org.
First Communion Through OCIA
First Communion is also part of the Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA), a unique process for adults, youth, and children who desire to grow in their relationship with God through the Catholic faith — primarily for those who are unbaptized, and for baptized Christians interested in exploring Catholicism or completing their initiation.
Holy Trinity Catholic School
Our parish also offers an exceptional Catholic school, committed to helping children in TK through 8th grade grow in Christ through hospitality, prayer, formation, and service. The religious education at the school includes First Communion. Visit Holy Trinity Catholic School for more information.
